Award Winning Charlotte Zolotow
Award winning Charlotte Zolotow books must be picture books written in the U.S. and can be fiction, nonfiction or folklore. Only a few of these childrens book awards are given each year.Award winning children's books written just for young children are a little harder to find. The Charlotte Zolotow award is given to the best picture book of the year, and it must be for children younger than seven. In addition, the book cannot be an early reader. The award is given in honor of Charlotte Zolotow, who was a University of Wisconsin-Madison alumus. Zolotow worked as a children’s book editor and also wrote over 70 children’s books herself. The Zolotow award is awarded by the
Cooperative Children’s Book Center
, which is part of the School of Education, University of Wisconsin-Madison. Exploring these titles has been a joy. There are some great books this year, and I think you will enjoy reading them.
