Childrens Book Authors
Who Writes Childrens Books?

Author Interviews
How to Write Childrens Books

It’s fun to interview childrens book authors to learn more about who wrote the books.

Have you ever wondered WHO the people are that write children’s books?

Who are these authors and what makes them tick?

This section features author interviews of childrens books and tells us about their backgrounds and their interest in children.

Often we read books, not knowing how the book came to be—or who the author is. Through our author interviews, we can learn about children’s book authors and get to know something about them!

If you are an author of children's books, or you know someone who has written a children’s book (and who might be willing to share their story with us), get in touch with Linda at ContactMe, and we’ll see if we can set up an interview.

Childrens book authors and their childrens books

Interviewing the authors of childrens books helps us
understand more about books we read.

Author Interviews

Getting to know an author helps us feel that the author of a book is a friend. The more we know about an author, the more we can appreciate a book.

Here are some interviews from childrens book authors:

  • Character Education Books - Leah Swan, author of childrens books, shares how her family has influenced her writing of fun books for building character...
  • Famous people in history - Denice Barlow Brown - Writing historical fiction for kids is Denice's passion. In this interview, she gives us some insight into her new book, The Moonlight Message and tells us about her love for history and teaching children personal responsibility...

  • David Murray - David Murray is a fantasy and science fiction writer with an interesting background, including a work history at Disney...

  • Science Fiction Authors - Part 2 of the David Murray interview talks about David's books and gives advice to budding childrens book authors...

  • Jocelyn Jackson - Jocelyn is the author of Ariel’s Adventures, the tale about her Maltese dog. This children’s book is written from Ariel’s perspective and takes children through a number of interesting adventures.

How to Write Childrens Books

A number of people have asked my how to get into the childrens book writing field.

If you have the ability to see the world through children's eyes and put your thoughts clearly into words, you might make a good childrens books author!

  • How to Write Childrens Books - Here's how to get started writing your first childrens book, with tips and advice on how to get it published...

  • Publish Childrens Books - You've written your first children's book--and it's a good one. Now, what do you do...

Learning about authors helps us get to know them. And knowing something about an author helps us understand what they have written. If you would like to see an author spotlighted here, and you would like Linda to interview an author, let us know…
